MassDEP has opened the Stormwater MS4 Municipal Assistance Grant Program for applications.

Awards under this program enable groups of Massachusetts municipalities to expand their efforts to meet requirements for the Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) General Permits, and to reduce stormwater pollution through coordinated partnerships that emphasize resource sharing.

• Eligible Entities: One or more municipalities in partnership with one or more: Regional Planning Agency, stormwater coalition, and/or similar non-profit acting on behalf of municipal MS4 permit holders
• Application Deadline: Friday, October 9, 2026
• Total Available: $250,000
• Estimated Award Amounts: $20,000 to $75,000 per applicant
