On behalf of the Healey-Driscoll Administration, I am pleased to announce the FY25 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant program through the Department of Fire Services (DFS). This initiative aims to reimburse fire departments for the purchase of essential firefighter equipment, including turnout gear, hoses, nozzles, communications equipment, hand tools, and more.

Eligible equipment includes over 100 different types of gear, including personal protective equipment, rescue tools, hazardous gas meters, and communications devices, with an emphasis on items that will help departments comply with current NFPA and OSHA standards.

Key dates for the program are as follows:

• Application Period Opened: September 16, 2024
• Application Deadline: October 17, 2024
• Award Announcements: Expected around November 18, 2024
