Closures will begin on Monday, February 26, and will occur weekly, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Two lanes of traffic will always remain open during these lane closures.

BOSTON/CHELSEA - The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing it will implement a single lane closure on the Tobin Bridge, on Route 1 southbound on the upper deck. The closure is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 26, and will occur weekly, Monday through Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Two lanes of traffic will always remain open during the single lane closures.  These closures will be coordinated with other construction projects in the area.

The lane closures are needed to support structural repairs to the Tobin Bridge. The work under this contract consists of cleaning, painting, structural and substructure repairs, and safety walk rehabilitation operations on the bridge.

Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.

Advanced warning signs will notify drivers about the planned closures and provide updates.

All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
