2024 August Adventures-FREE Admissions to Museums in MA

AUGUST ADVENTURES 2024 WILL PROVIDE NO-COST ADMISSION TO A DIFFERENT MUSEUM OR
CULTURAL INSTITUTION EVERY DAY DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST

Program will take place in cities and towns across Massachusetts

Newton, Mass. (6/25/24) – Today, Highland Street Foundation released a calendar of free activities taking
place during the month of August. Each day, there will be one museum, zoo, nature sanctuary, or historical
site open for free.

August Adventures, modeled after Highland Street’s long-standing Free Fun Fridays program, will provide
enriching opportunities for individuals, children, and families across the Commonwealth. From children’s
museums, to art, to science and history, there is something for everyone.

“As we celebrate our 35th anniversary this year, we are excited to partner with such a wide array of
institutions, all of which add to the incredibly rich cultural fabric of our Commonwealth,” said Highland
Street’s Executive Director Blake Jordan. “Increasing access and opening doors to wide and diverse
audiences are shared goals of all of us and we hope to welcome many visitors during August Adventures.”
The August Adventures program offers opportunities throughout the Commonwealth, from Greater Boston
to Cape Cod, and out to Central and Western Massachusetts. “We are delighted to be a part of August
Adventures and grateful for Highland Street Foundation’s support of this wonderful initiative,” says Jennifer
Schantz, Executive Director of The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, MA. “These special
days bring many new families to The Carle to experience joy through the universally beloved medium of
picture book art. And we know that visits to any of the participating organizations will be educational,
entertaining, and certain to make meaningful memories for those across the Commonwealth.”

Some venues may require advance registration, which will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
People are asked to visit Highland Street Foundation’s website for links to individual opportunities.
